Trump's cultural sites threat unites Iranians

As soon as the news È«Äá¸íǰ±¸¸Å´ëÇà=È«Äá¸íǰ½Å¹ß È«Äá¸íǰ±¸¸Å´ëÇà È«Äᱸ¸Å´ëÇà
of the killing of Qasem Soleimani broke, Iranians were divided. Some were ¼ö¿øÆ÷ÀåÀÌ»ç=¼ö¿øÆ÷ÀåÀÌ»ç¸Å¿ìÁÁÀ½
offended and some celebrated it on social media.

The division got ugly on Twitter. Some ûȣ³ªÀ̽ºÈÖÄ«Æä=ûȣ³ªÀ̽ºÈÖÄ«ÆäÈǸ¢ÇѰ÷
were accused of being victims of "Stockholm syndrome" because they were angry about the killing, and others were labelled traitors.

But US President Donald Trump's ¼ºµ¿±¸Æ÷ÀåÀÌ»ç
tweet threatening the targeting of Iran's cultural sites united Iranians against him.

Some of the sites ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®
are religious and some are not, but secular and religious Iranians are proud of their heritage and came together È«Äá¸íǰ½Ã°è=È«Äá¸íǰ±¸¸Å´ëÇà È«Äᱸ¸Å´ëÇà È«Äá½Ã°è
to denounce the president's threats. Nothing could better unite divided Iranians at home and in the diaspora ·¹Çø®Ä«¼îÇÎ ·¹Çø®Ä«Ä¿½ºÅÒ±Þ ·¹Çø®Ä«ÀÏ´ëÀÏ=·¹Çø®Ä«¼îÇÎ ·¹Çø®Ä«Ä¿½ºÅÒ±Þ ·¹Çø®Ä«ÀÏ´ëÀÏ
than a hit on their beloved past.

Iran's foreign minister seized the opportunity ÀÇ·á±â±â·»Å»
and in several tweets compared President Trump to the Islamic State group, which destroyed many cultural sites in Syria.
